Description

A crispy and creamy Tex-Mex-inspired dessert made by wrapping sweet cream cheese filling in a tortilla, frying it to golden perfection, and finishing it with cinnamon sugar and indulgent toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cinnamon sugar (for coating)
  • 2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Optional toppings: vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, caramel sauce, chocolate syrup

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Chill for 30 minutes.
  2. Spread filling across each tortilla and roll tightly like a burrito. Seal with a little water.
  3. Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Fry each wrapped Xango for 2–3 minutes per side or until golden.
  5. Immediately roll in cinnamon sugar while hot.
  6. Serve warm, topped with ice cream, whipped cream, or your favorite sauce.

Notes

  • Chill the filling for cleaner wrapping and better frying results.
  • For a lighter option, use an air fryer at 375°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • You can use flavored cream cheese like strawberry or pumpkin spice for seasonal variations.
