Description

These watermelon fries are crisp, juicy, and fun to eat! Shaped like French fries but made from fresh, chilled watermelon, they’re paired with a creamy yogurt-lime dip β€” making them the perfect summer snack, appetizer, or kid-friendly treat.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Fries:

  • 1 small seedless watermelon (chilled)
  • Paper towels (to dry)

For the Yogurt-Lime Dip:

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1–2 tbsp honey (to taste)
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Optional: chopped mint or basil

Instructions

  1. Wash the watermelon and slice off both ends.
  2. Cut in half lengthwise, then into 1-inch thick slabs.
  3. Slice slabs into 1-inch wide sticks (fries). Pat dry.
  4. Mix yogurt, lime juice, zest, honey, and salt in a bowl. Add herbs if using.
  5. Chill both the fries and dip before serving.
  6. Optional: sprinkle fries with chili-lime seasoning or feta.

Notes

  • Use a cold, firm watermelon for the cleanest cuts.
  • Pat fries dry to prevent watery dips.
  • Can be prepped a few hours in advance. Store separately from dip.
  • Try savory versions with Tajin, feta, or balsamic drizzle!
