Description

Recreate the restaurant favorite Longhorn stuffed mushrooms at home! These savory bites are filled with garlic herb cheese, topped with white cheddar and Alfredo, and finished with a golden Parmesan crust. A perfect appetizer for steak night, dinner parties, or any occasion that calls for something indulgent and cheesy.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Mushrooms:

  • 1 lb white button mushrooms, stems removed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or melted butter (for brushing)

For the Filling:

  • ½ cup garlic herb cheese spread (like Boursin)
  • ½ cup shredded white cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley or chives

For the Base & Topping:

  • ½ cup Alfredo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs or crushed croutons
  • 1 tbsp melted butter (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Clean mushrooms with a damp towel and remove stems. Hollow slightly if needed.
  3. Lightly brush mushroom caps with olive oil or melted butter.
  4. In a bowl, mix garlic herb cheese, cheddar, cream cheese, garlic, and herbs.
  5. Stuff each mushroom cap with the cheese mixture.
  6. Spread Alfredo sauce on the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  7. Place mushrooms on top of the Alfredo layer.
  8. In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs and Parmesan. Sprinkle over each mushroom.
  9. Drizzle with melted butter.
  10. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden and bubbling. Broil for 1–2 minutes if needed.
  11. Garnish with extra herbs and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use baby bellas or portobello for size variations.
  • Add-ins like bacon, crab, or spinach can boost flavor.
  • Don’t add breadcrumbs too early if prepping ahead — they’ll go soggy.
