For the dough:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2ÂĽ tsp active dry yeast
- 1½ tsp salt
- 1½ cups warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
For the sauce & toppings:
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella
- ½ cup pepperoni or cooked sausage
- ½ cup sliced bell peppers
- ½ cup mushrooms
- ÂĽ cup black olives
- ½ tsp oregano or Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and olive oil. Let sit 5 mins. Add flour and salt. Knead until smooth. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven: Set oven to 475°F (245°C). Place a pizza stone or baking tray inside to heat up.
- Shape the dough: Roll out risen dough into a 14–16 inch circle. Place on parchment paper.
- Add toppings: Spread sauce evenly, then add cheese and toppings of your choice.
- Bake the pizza: Slide parchment onto hot tray/stone. Bake for 12–15 mins until crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.
- Slice & enjoy: Let rest 2–3 mins before slicing. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Substitute with gluten-free flour if needed
- Double recipe for two pizzas
- Let kids decorate their own “zones” of toppings
- Use leftover toppings for dessert pizza!
